CUBE Type

CUBE Type is a tiny playground for isometric typography.

The website is https://typeincube.com.

It was made by Bear Liu.

What it does

You type letters into a grid.

CUBE Type renders them as isometric blocks, also called axonometric blocks.

The grid is 12 by 12 characters.

You can choose a composition, a colour palette, a canvas shape, spacing, a shadow, empty blocks and a height mode.

Canvas shapes are 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16.

There are 16 colour palettes.

What it costs

CUBE Type is free.

There is no account and no sign-up.

There is no usage limit, no credits and no trial.

Privacy

CUBE Type renders your work in your browser.

There is no account, so your work is not tied to an identity.

There is no server that stores your work.

CUBE Type uses anonymous product analytics, including session replay, to see how the tool is used.

Analytics events never contain the text you type.

Exports

You can download your work as a PNG image.

You can download a short animation as an MP4 or a GIF.

You can copy a link that reopens your work in the editor.

Where it runs

CUBE Type works in any modern browser.

It works on desktop and on mobile.

There is nothing to install.

What it is not

CUBE Type is not a 3D modelling tool.

It has no free canvas, no layers, and no dragging or rotating of individual elements.

You pick a composition instead of arranging the blocks yourself.

It accepts Latin characters only.

Other scripts are rejected as you type, so that the same text produces the same image on any machine.
